Manisha Gawade’s solo exhibition – Keepsakes

Keepsakes, solo exhibition of unique art furniture and paintings will be inaugurated on 5th Sep. 2108, at Alliance Francaise, Art Gallery, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi and will be on display from 6th to 11th Sep, 2018.

Keepsakes is conceptualized, designed and painted by internationally acclaimed artist Manisha Gawade. The show is presented by Ms. Anju Choudhary, founder and director of Wild Ochre and curated by Dr. Alka Raghuvanshi a senior pillar of the art world. Senior and well known people from art and design world Mr. Sunil Sethi and Prof. Niren Sengupta will inaugurate the show.

Keepsakes is a path breaking, first of its kind exhibition of art-furniture and paintings that complement it – both an intrinsic part of living spaces. They are an art connoisseur’s delight and an interiors aficionado’s fascination.

The paintings on furniture done by the artist are intrinsic to its being and pieces that you would love to own and pass on to the next generation, therefore becoming a keepsake forever. If art is a reflection of the times we live in, this art furniture epitomizes it in a way that it becomes a repository of contemporary art and keeps the timelessness of fabulous design intact. The strength of the works is also the high quality of materials used including wood, fittings, and polishing material.

The show curator Dr Alka Raghuvanshi says,“Finishes in furniture along with painting are not very easy to do. It takes a lot of effort to come to the point where the finishes and finishing meld together to actually create a piece of furniture that will actually be a keepsake”.
