Shrines through an artist’s eyes

Shrine, a solo exhibition of unique art furniture and paintings conceptualized, designed and painted by Artist Sanjay Bhattacharya was inaugarated on 21st September 2018 at the Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat center, New Delhi by inaugurated by Mr. Susheel Gupta, Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP, Mr. Udit Raj, Honourable Lok Sabha MP & Mr. Sandeep Marwah, Chairman Marwah Group of Studios. The show will continue till 29th Sep, 2018. The guests spotted at the event were Sanjay Passi, President and CEO Pasco Automobile, Art Curator Payal Kapoor, Aman Nath, Co-Founder of the Neemrana Hotels & Arijoy Bhattacharya, Artist Shridhar Iyer, Sangeeta Gupta, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Bulbul Bhattacharya, Anil Rajput Senior Vice-President at ITC, Ira Singhal,  IAS Officer 2015 Batch, Photographer Gaurav Bhardwaj, Prof. Niren Sen Gupta & Artist Manish Pushkale, Vikram Baidyanath, president and CEO, Baidyanath Group & Sushma Bahl to name a few.Artist Sanjay Bhattacharya, Mr. Susheel Gupta, Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP. Udit Raj North West Delhi MP, Venkatesh and Venugopal, chairman special representative Telengana Govt 

Sanjay Bhattacharya, a renowned name in art world is exhibiting some of his recent works. In the new series he tries to showcase the essential elements in the places of pilgrimage. The new journey which is mirrored in this show is meant to take the art lovers in all the four directions of the compass.

In the East the artist picks Kolkata’s Kalighat temple and Gauhati’s Kamakhya temple, in the North, it’s the sacred place of the Sikhs where the allure of God and gold are equated in a religious reasoning, and in the west Sai Baba of Shirdi depicting a new vision of the faqir of miracles.

In the south he picks up Tirupati temple with its Vaishnav symbol atop a brass lamp flaunted against the hills and sky . Another painting portrays Vishnu symbols in the conch, as well as lord Rama.
