The 8th edition of The Punch Boxing at the Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida

Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida, an IHG Hotel is one of the leading hotels that keep on organsing various events, such as food festivals, conferences, indoor sports events, etc. With its sprawling lawns, it also is a sought-after wedding destination in the Delhi NCR area.

Recently, we saw the organisation of the eighth edition of The Punch Boxing, a sanctioned professional boxing series in India that was followed by a live band and Gourmet dinner and cocktails. The event saw Harsh Gill winning the coveted WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental Championship title.

The Punch Boxing is a sanctioned professional boxing series in India, started with the sole motive to promote boxing and boxers in India by Sports Oodles Pvt. Ltd; The Punch Boxing has successfully organized the Punch Boxing Nights in Delhi, Dehradun, Goa, Mumbai, Greater Noida, and many more places to come; where the boxer from worldwide have participated till now like Holland, Cameroon, Armenia, Afghanistan, Thailand. Brands like Pepsi, PVR, Isuzu Motors, UM Motors, Kingfisher, Monster Energy, Tito’s Goa, and Bhutani Infra, had already invested as a sponsor and had an opportunity for worldwide publicity through Punch Boxing. The series has been endorsed by global celebrities Sonu Sood, Randy Couture, Jimmy Shergil, Kurt Angle, and Hector Chamacho Jr.

The idea behind the event was to provide a competitive environment and prepare Indian pugilists for international competitions. Harsh Gill from India and Sung Jin Kwak from Korea contested for the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental title. After winning, Gill said, “It’s a proud moment for me and my country. When it comes to the Tricolour and India, I fight like my life is at stake and today I did the same. I’m really happy and excited to win this for my country.”

Talking about the experience of hosting the professional boxing series, Sharad K Upadhyay, General Manager, Crowne Plaza Greater Noida, said, “It has been a great experience hosting the event for the fourth time here. We have been organising different events and evenings for our patrons but this is a series full of excitement and loads of entertainment. The main motto of hosting this series is to promote professional boxing among Indians. These events provide a great opportunity for networking, business relationships, and enjoyment to the guests and patrons.”

The 8th edition of The Punch Boxing saw participation from well-known Indian boxers and a total of 11 professional bouts including the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental title took place.
